Breckland Council approves Swanton Morley assisted living plans

Breckland Council has approved the next stage of plans for a new assisted living complex in Swanton Morley. The development, proposed by Castlemeadow Care, will be located on Dereham Road adjacent to the Lincoln House nursing home.

The project includes the construction of up to 36 bungalows, featuring a mix of one and two-bedroom properties, a community hall, and dedicated parking. While the proposal faced concerns regarding local road impact and the loss of a frequently used footpath, the council moved forward with the scheme.

The approval includes a Section 106 agreement requiring a minimum payment of £210,000 toward affordable housing, the provision of at least 1.96 hectares of open space, and other environmental contributions.
