Breda launches new housing sales and senior mobility pilot
Breda is implementing new initiatives to address housing availability and mobility. Sales for 46 new homes in the Blossem Breda development are scheduled to begin on September 12. This project, located on the former Nibb-it factory site, includes a variety of housing types: 17 family homes in the Cedar sub-project, 16 apartments in Krabi, and 13 larger family and senior homes in Bromo. Prices for the Bromo section start at approximately €605,000.
In a separate effort to improve housing circulation, the Municipality of Breda, in collaboration with housing corporations Alwel, Laurentius, and WonenBreburg, will launch a pilot program on October 1, 2026. The 'Senior Mobility Approach' aims to help renters aged 55 and older move from unsuitable social housing to more appropriate homes. The program includes personal guidance from relocation agents and a moving voucher to reduce financial barriers, ultimately freeing up larger social housing units for families and other seekers.
