Bredevoort city guides win Erfgoedprijs 2026

The Bredevoort city guides have been awarded the Erfgoedprijs 2026 (Heritage Prize 2026). The award was presented during a ceremony at the Koppelkerk in Bredevoort, recognizing the group for their work providing historical tours of the fortified city, including its old fortifications, historical buildings, and trade routes.

The city guides were selected from six nominees, which included architect Vincenth Schreurs and volunteers from the Stichting Restauratiefonds Oude Sint-Helenakerk. During the event, Mayor Anton Stapelkamp emphasized the importance of resilience and dedication in preserving heritage for the future.
