Breecamp-West housing project moves forward with 655 planned homes
The development of a new residential area in Breecamp-West is moving forward following the establishment of a modified environmental plan. The municipality intends to permit a maximum of 655 homes, with construction of the first units scheduled to begin in the autumn of 2027. The project aims to add approximately 110 homes annually, with completion expected around 2032.
Despite the progress in legal frameworks, the grid operator Enexis has not yet provided definitive confirmation regarding sufficient power transport capacity for the area. The municipality expects more clarity on this matter shortly and noted that this does not currently impact the established planning timeline.
The plan also includes provisions for local amenities, such as up to 100 square meters of small-scale catering and 200 square meters of retail space. To accommodate the new neighborhood, the Scholtensteeg will be widened and a new roundabout will be constructed.
