Breeders' Cup qualifiers at Goodwood and Del Mar ahead of Arlington Million

The Goodwood Racecourse in England will host three Breeders' Cup Challenge qualifying races on Wednesday and Thursday: the HKJC World Pool Molecomb Stakes (Gr. 3) for a Juvenile Turf Sprint berth, the Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes (Gr. 1) for a Mile berth, and the Visit Qatar Nassau Stakes (Gr. 1) for a Filly & Mare Turf berth.

In the United States, Del Mar Racetrack in San Diego, California will stage the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1) on Saturday, August 1, awarding the winner a direct entry to the Breeders' Cup Distaff.

The same day, Colonial Downs in Virginia will hold the Arlington Million (G1) on turf over 2,000 m. Jockey Javier Castellano will ride Fort Washington, seeking his first Grade 1 victory this season, while the favored Burnham Square will challenge for the win.
