Breedon Group reopens upgraded Grimsby asphalt plant

Breedon Group Plc has reopened its asphalt plant in Grimsby, England, following an investment program to modernize the facility. The upgrade involved replacing the previous unit with a more modern plant relocated from another part of the business.

The project has increased production capacity to 240 tonnes per hour and includes the installation of two new 45-tonne storage bins. These additions are intended to improve production reliability, allow for on-demand supply, and support the potential introduction of specialist asphalt products.

Located along the Lincolnshire coastline, the facility serves as a strategic site for the regional market where alternative supply options are limited. The redevelopment involved several local contractors, including GBM Demolition, BH Construction, SES Engineering, and ARC Electrical.
