Breeze Airways completes transition to all-Airbus A220 fleet

Breeze Airways has completed its transition to an all-Airbus A220-300 fleet, marking the end of its use of Embraer E-Jet aircraft. The final commercial flight of an Embraer E190 took place on September 7, traveling between Orlando International and New Orleans International airports.

The airline, founded by David Neeleman, began this fleet restructuring process in 2021. By replacing used Embraer E190 and E195 models with new Airbus aircraft, the company aims to reduce operating costs through unified maintenance, simplified crew scheduling, and streamlined spare parts inventory.

Breeze Airways currently operates 59 Airbus A220-300 aircraft and has ordered 90 units in total, with 64 delivered and 30 options remaining. The A220-300's range and capacity are intended to support the airline's business model of providing direct connections between secondary regional airports and long-distance transcontinental routes.
