Brembo unveils Boldika, its most powerful braking system
Brembo has developed its most powerful braking system to date, named Boldika, designed specifically for heavy, high-performance vehicles. The system features a six-piston caliper capable of producing a braking torque of 8,500 Nm.
The Boldika system is set to debut on the Chevrolet Silverado RST Stars and Steel, an electric pickup truck. Due to its large battery capacities—up to 205 kWh—the vehicle has a curb weight of approximately 3.9 tonnes. This heavy mass requires significant stopping power, especially when the battery is fully charged and regenerative braking is unavailable.
To accommodate the size of the Boldika calipers, vehicles must be equipped with wheel rims of at least 20 inches. The system also incorporates Enesys technology, which ensures brake pads return to their correct position after braking to extend component life and improve efficiency.
