Bremen implements youth participation project for urban infrastructure

In Bremen, a model project is being implemented to involve young people in the development of local youth infrastructure. Following surveys in the districts of Walle, Huchting, and Blumenthal, specific improvements are being planned using the 2026 youth budget.

Key requested improvements include a multi-functional sports and play area in Blumenthal, a covered social space with seating and basketball facilities in Walle, and the provision of free Wi-Fi at Sodenmattsee along with extended hours for walking and basketball in Huchting. Participants prioritized clean, covered, and free public spaces that allow for self-organization.
