Bremen Police Investigate Series of Arson Fires in Neustadt and Schwachhausen

Between the evening of July 28 and the early hours of July 29, multiple fires were reported in Bremen's Neustadt district (Donaustraße and Lahnstraße) and in the Schwachhausen area (Parkallee). The first blaze ignited waste bins in front of a kitchen window, damaging the bins and the façade of a row house. Later that evening a separate pile of bulky waste caught fire on Lahnstraße, which a witness extinguished. During the night, a discarded sofa set ablaze on Parkallee was reported by a motorist, and a nearby balcony fire caused additional damage to a building's facade and waste containers. Bremen's criminal police have opened arson investigations, treating the incidents as intentional and are seeking witnesses. They have provided a hotline (0421 362‑3888) for anyone with information.
