Bremen Senator Eva Högl Warns of Multi‑Faced Security Threats in 2025 Intelligence Report

Bremen’s interior senator, Dr. Eva Högl, presented the 2025 domestic intelligence report, describing the security situation as serious. The report highlights hybrid threats from foreign states targeting Germany and Europe through disinformation, cyber‑attacks, espionage and sabotage, especially against Bremen’s port and aerospace sectors.

It also notes a rise in right‑wing extremism, particularly the “New Right,” increased antisemitism, persistent Islamist threats linked to the Middle‑East conflict, and growing left‑wing violence, citing recent attacks on infrastructure. Högl calls for stronger legal tools, more personnel, premises and technology for the domestic intelligence service.

“Der Bericht ist ein Auftrag zu mehr Wachsamkeit!” Högl concluded, urging heightened vigilance and resources to counter the varied dangers.
