Bremen to establish support center for foreign healthcare workers
The city-state of Bremen is planning to establish a “Welcome-Center” to support foreign healthcare professionals. The pilot project, estimated to cost approximately 600,000 euros, is intended to run for two years.
The center aims to assist international nursing staff with various integration challenges, including entry into the country, finding housing, and the recognition of professional qualifications. The project follows a rejected EU funding application that would have allowed for a much larger facility costing over three million euros.
This initiative comes amid a significant shortage of qualified personnel in the region, which remains a major concern for local businesses and clinics.
