Bremerhaven police recover inflatable doll after reported drowning
A rescue operation in the German port of Bremerhaven ended unexpectedly when authorities discovered that a reported lifeless body floating in the North Sea was actually an inflatable doll.
The incident began on a Monday morning when a ship crew in the Kaiserhafen port area spotted an object in the water that resembled a human body. The river police (Wasserschutzpolizei) were dispatched to investigate, initially considering the possibility of a drowning victim or a dead animal.
Upon closer inspection and retrieval, officials confirmed the object was an inflatable adult toy. Local authorities stated the discovery was “surprisingly” a sex doll. The object was subsequently destroyed, and the case was closed without further investigation.
