Several small-scale Viehscheid (cattle drive) events are scheduled for the 2026 season in the Allgäu region of Germany.
In Unterjoch, the event is set for September 14, 2026, featuring approximately 60 young cattle from the Buchelalpe. The procession is described as a family-friendly and cozy gathering. In Wengen, the drive will take place on September 19, 2026, with about 100 young cattle arriving around 12:30 PM, accompanied by a farmers' market and festivities.
Additionally, the Heimhofen Viehscheid near Grünenbach is noted as one of the youngest and smallest events of the season. Scheduled for October 10, 2026, it involves approximately 60 cattle returning from nearby pastures rather than high mountain alps. The event is expected to draw over 1,000 spectators and includes traditional music and a festival tent.
