Mayor Brenda Locke has announced a full eight-member council slate for the Surrey Connect party as she seeks re-election. The lineup was introduced at a banquet in East Newton and includes former councillor Vera Lefranc and lawyer/realtor Michael Dunn.

Lefranc, who previously served a single term in 2014 with the Surrey First party, stated that the political landscape has changed since her previous tenure. The slate also features incumbent councillors Gordon Hepner, Harry Bains, Pardeep Kooner, and Rob Stutt, alongside newcomers Noemi Victorino and Rona Tepper.

During the announcement, candidate Michael Dunn criticized the previous administration under Doug McCallum, alleging fiscal mismanagement. Regarding economic policy, Mayor Locke stated that while her administration aims to keep property taxes low, she will not commit to a four-year tax freeze to avoid potential cuts to municipal services and staffing.
