Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz reunite for The Mummy 4

Production has officially begun on the fourth installment of ‘The Mummy’ franchise. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are set to reunite as Rick and Evelyn O’Connell, marking their first collaboration since 2001.

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the new film will serve as a direct sequel to the original classics, intentionally ignoring the events of the third film released in 2008. Filming is scheduled to take place in London and Morocco.

The returning cast includes John Hannah as Jonathan Carnahan, Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay, and Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep. In a notable casting choice, Kevin J. O’Connor will return as Beni Gabor, despite the character's fate in the first film. Fraser noted that he underwent intensive physical training for the role, describing the experience as ‘reencontrando um velho amigo’ (reconnecting with an old friend).
