Brendan Fraser discusses role in D-Day film ‘Pressure’

Actor Brendan Fraser has discussed the historical research involved in his role as General Dwight D. Eisenhower in the upcoming film ‘Pressure’. Directed by Anthony Maras, the film focuses on the critical 72-hour period surrounding the D-Day landings during World War II.

The narrative centers on Royal Air Force Group Captain James Stagg, portrayed by Andrew Scott, a Scottish meteorologist tasked with forecasting weather conditions for the invasion. The film highlights the tension between Stagg’s scientific forecasting methods and the historical data used by Colonel Irving P. Krick, the American military meteorologist, who predicted favorable conditions for June 5 based on previous decades of weather maps.

Fraser noted that the film explores the truth behind Eisenhower’s later assertion that the Allies had an advantage due to having better meteorologists than the Germans.
