Brent Underwood rebuilds California ghost town Cerro Gordo

Brent Underwood, an adventurer who invested his life savings and a high-interest loan into a California ghost town, is sharing his experience living in and rebuilding Cerro Gordo. Located near Lone Pine, the abandoned silver-mining town was purchased by Underwood in 2018 for $1.4 million.

Underwood intends to transform the desolate location into a vacation destination, with plans to open a hotel and eight cabins for tourists. He noted that the solitude and lack of light pollution provide a unique connection to nature and the stars, despite the challenges of living in a remote area.
