Brentford FC reports incident to police after rugby ball kicked into stadium

Brentford FC has reported an incident to the Metropolitan Police after a rugby ball was kicked from a nearby residential building into the Gtech Community Stadium. The event occurred during a Premier League match against Liverpool, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for Brentford.

Video footage circulating on social media shows the ball being kicked from a building, likely the Memento Kew Bridge complex, over the stands and toward the pitch. While a stadium employee had to retrieve the object, no injuries were reported.

The club described the behavior as “dangerous and potentially harmful,” noting that such actions could jeopardize the safety of players, staff, spectators, and match officials. Brentford is currently collaborating with authorities to identify the individual responsible, and the incident may lead to criminal proceedings depending on the investigation's outcome.
