Brentford FC training halted by Donald Trump's G7 arrival in France

Brentford Football Club, preparing for the Conference League qualifiers and the Premier League season, set up its pre‑season base in Evian‑les‑Bains, France, near Lake Geneva. The team planned to stay at the Hotel Royal Resort close to its training centre.

The club's plans were disrupted when U.S. President Donald Trump attended the G7 summit in the area. Helicopters carrying Trump, the British prime minister and French President Emmanuel Macron landed on the training pitch, damaging the grass. As a result, Brentford moved its preparations to Austria, cancelled a friendly against Annecy, and adjusted its upcoming fixtures.
