Brentford signs defender El Hadji Malick Diouf from West Ham

Brentford has officially signed Senegalese left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf from West Ham United. The 21-year-old defender has committed to a five-year contract, which includes an option for an additional year.

The transfer is valued at up to £40 million, consisting of a £35 million base fee and £5 million in potential add-ons. Diouf joins Brentford following a season with West Ham in which he made 34 appearances and recorded five assists. His move follows West Ham's relegation to the Championship.

Brentford head coach Keith Andrews praised the signing, noting that Diouf fits the club’s ideal age profile and possesses significant potential for development. Diouf, who has represented Senegal in the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations, becomes Brentford's fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
