Brescia authorities sign Zeus Protocol to combat violence against women

The Brescia Police Headquarters and the Centro Italiano per la Promozione della Mediazione (C.I.P.M.) Lombardia Orientale have signed the ‘Protocollo Zeus’ to combat violence against women and prevent recidivism.

Under this agreement, individuals who have committed acts of stalking, domestic violence, gender-based violence, or cyberbullying and have received a formal warning from the police commissioner will be directed to specialized treatment programs. These programs, managed by a multidisciplinary team at C.I.P.M., aim to increase awareness of the harm caused by such behaviors and reduce interpersonal conflict.

The protocol is particularly significant due to 2023 legislative changes. For those subject to a police warning, participation in these specialized recovery programs is now a necessary condition to request the revocation of the measure after three years, with the decision based on the results achieved during the program.
