Brescia Hosts Elite Athletics Meeting Featuring Francesco Pernici

The sixth Meeting della Leonessa took place on 11 July at the Gabre Gabric stadium in Sanpolino, Brescia. The event, also counting as the tenth Memorial Davide Boroni, attracted top Italian athletes, most notably local runner Francesco Pernici, the recent national 800‑metre record holder, who competed in the 400‑metre race. Other highlighted competitors included 400‑metre champion Edoardo Scotti and several leading sprinters and middle‑distance runners in both men’s and women’s fields. Organized by the Unione Atletica Valtrompia, the meeting featured contests in sprints, hurdles, middle‑distance, jumps and throws, aiming to showcase national talent and draw public interest.

Officials from the regional athletics federation praised the growing stature of the meeting, citing strong support from sponsors such as Banca Valsabbina and local authorities. The competition served as a key preparation milestone for athletes ahead of upcoming national championships and international meets.
