Italy implements various local security and surveillance measures

Various Italian municipalities and provincial authorities are implementing new measures to enhance public safety and combat urban decay. In Genoa, local police are extending 24-hour patrols to several historic districts to target drug dealing and illegal occupation. Similarly, Sassari has launched an experimental nighttime patrol project in its medieval center.

Several provinces are advancing technological security initiatives. In Forlì and Sansepolcro, committees have approved urban videosurveillance projects to secure sensitive areas, seeking funding from the Ministry of the Interior. In Oristano, six municipalities have signed security pacts to expand camera networks.

Law enforcement activity remains high across the country. In the Trapani and various other provinces, extraordinary services involving the Carabinieri, State Police, and Army have resulted in numerous checks on judicial obligations and traffic violations. In Avellino, police arrested individuals for drug trafficking within commercial businesses. Additionally, local authorities in Matera and Lecce have held meetings to welcome new Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza officers, ensuring continuity in regional security and legal defense efforts.
