Vibo Valentia police detain man for attempted murder
Authorities in Vibo Valentia have detained 54-year-old Antonio Manco in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 27 in the Affaccio neighborhood. Investigators from the Squadra Mobile identified Manco as the individual responsible for shooting 60-year-old Gabriele Ionadi. While Ionadi sustained non-serious injuries, the incident was followed by a violent assault on his son as he returned home from the hospital.
The Procura della Repubblica di Vibo Valentia, led by prosecutor Alessandra Trabucco, has issued the detention order. Manco faces charges including attempted murder and the illegal possession of a clandestine weapon. Investigators are currently examining whether the violence stemmed from a prior altercation near a local car wash.
