Brescia Province gambling spend tops €23 billion since 2016

Since 2016 residents of the province of Brescia have wagered more than €23 billion on gambling, a figure that places the area tenth in Italy for total collections from physical and online games. In 2025 alone, Brescia’s total betting volume reached €3.22 billion, with online gambling accounting for over 48% of that amount.

A Ministry of Economy report released in April 2026 shows that nationwide gambling turnover grew to €165 billion in 2025, a 5% rise from the previous year, generating €11.4 billion in tax revenue. Physical gambling fell 1.3% to €64.4 billion, while the digital sector expanded 9.5% to €100.88 billion. Per‑capita gambling expenditure in Brescia averaged €2,560, including minors, prompting concern over the growing appeal of the sector among younger residents.
