Brescia region launches new literary and book exchange initiatives

Cultural initiatives focused on reading and book exchange are expanding across the Brescia region in Italy. In Casalgrande, the “Casalgrande Legge” project is launching a distributed bookcrossing network. This initiative provides kits to local businesses, transforming shops into small exchange points to bring books into daily life outside of traditional libraries. Future phases of the project include installing “book houses” in local parks and smaller districts.

Meanwhile, the city of Brescia is preparing for the thirteenth edition of Librixia, a book fair scheduled from September 26 to October 4. Organized by Confartigianato Imprese Brescia and Lombardia Orientale in collaboration with the Municipality of Brescia, the event will center on Piazza Vittoria. Pre-fair events titled “Aspettando Librixia” include a session on Italian gastronomic culture at CAST Alimenti and a literary meeting with Concita De Gregorio at the Teatro Civico in Leno.
