Brescia shows significant growth in sustainability and well-being report
Brescia has emerged as one of the Italian territories showing the most significant improvement in the eighth edition of the BenVivere and Generativity of Territories Report. Presented in Florence during the National Festival of Civil Economy, the study compares official statistical data with citizen perceptions gathered from 6,000 people across 53 large Italian areas.
The report highlights seven “upgrades” in Brescia’s ratings, noting the industrial area's progress in environmental sustainability and citizen well-being. Key drivers include the Air and Climate Plan, the 2025 Green and Biodiversity Plan, and investments in soil remediation. Social factors such as community welfare and the role of the third sector were also cited as strengths.
A major factor in this growth is the collaboration between institutions, businesses, associations, and cooperatives. Specific successful initiatives include labor inclusion programs for incarcerated individuals, pathways for NEETs (young people not in education, employment, or training) aged 15 to 29, and mediation projects to facilitate housing access.
