Brest Bretagne Handball loses 27-26 to Plan-de-Cuques

Brest Bretagne Handball suffered a 27-26 defeat against Plan-de-Cuques during the third round of the French handball league. Despite entering the season as defending champions, the team struggled throughout the match, spending much of the first half chasing the home side.

Plan-de-Cuques established an early 2-0 lead and held a 13-9 advantage before Brest narrowed the gap to 14-12 by halftime. Although Brest managed to equalize at 18-18 in the second half, they struggled to maintain control. In the final five minutes, Brest appeared to be turning the game around, reaching a 26-24 lead following a goal by Petra Horacek and a save by Floriane André.

However, Plan-de-Cuques responded to equalize. In the final minute, goalkeeper Agathe Quiniou, a former Brest player, made a critical save. On the final play of the match, Souza scored the winning goal for Plan-de-Cuques. Clarrisse Mairot and Petra Horacek were the top scorers for Brest with six goals each.
