Brest to invest 32 million euros in school renovations

The city of Brest has announced a 32 million euro investment plan over the next four years dedicated to its school infrastructure. A significant portion of this budget, totaling 21.5 million euros, is earmarked specifically for energy renovation projects across five buildings.

The plan also includes the restructuring of the Vauban school group. To address rising temperatures, the city has already installed 200 fans and 120 air conditioning units in schools. Mayor Stéphane Roudaut noted that the city's educational heritage, comprising 67 schools across 34 groups, represents one-quarter of all municipal real estate, totaling 108,000 square meters that require ongoing maintenance and renovation.
