Bret Hart accuses Shawn Michaels of stealing ladder match concept

Wrestling legend Bret Hart has accused Shawn Michaels of stealing his ladder match concept. Hart stated that the incident remains a significant grievance, claiming he loses sleep over it more than 30 years later.

Hart explained that he originally pitched the ladder match idea to Vince McMahon in 1985, noting the concept had been used in Calgary for years. After years of silence from McMahon, Hart eventually demonstrated the match concept to him using Michaels as a partner for the demonstration. Hart alleges that Michaels subsequently pitched the match for WrestleMania X involving himself and Razor Ramon.

In a separate reflection on his career, Mick Foley discussed his professional relationship with Michaels. While Foley praised Michaels and cited their 1996 match at WWE In Your House: Mind Games as one of his personal favorites, he expressed regret that the company did not develop a longer storyline between them that could have led to a WrestleMania match.
