Bret Michaels postpones tour dates for 3‑4 weeks after kidney stone surgery
Poison frontman Bret Michaels, currently on his "Live & Amplified" world tour, was diagnosed on July 19, 2026 with a complicated obstructing kidney stone. He underwent immediate surgery in which a ureteral stent was placed to keep his ureter open.
Doctors warned that, because of the stent, his underlying Type 1 diabetes and a pre‑existing lower‑back compression fracture, he must avoid live performances for the next three to four weeks to reduce the risk of severe pain, infection or stent displacement. His scheduled shows, including eleven dates in July and August, are being postponed. The Indiana State Fair concert slated for Aug. 12 has been moved to 2027.
Michaels said he plans to resume touring in late August if his recovery proceeds without complications, thanking fans, family and his team for their support.
