Breton culture celebrated through traditional parades and Diwanarzik festival

Breton cultural traditions, characterized by music, traditional costumes, and dance, continue to serve as vital tools for community bonding and the preservation of regional identity in Brittany. These traditions often stem from historical religious processions, such as pardons, or secular community celebrations that showcase the diverse heritage of the region.

On September 12, the Skol Diwan school will host the Diwanarzik festival in Baud, Morbihan. The event aims to provide an accessible celebration of the Breton language and culture. The program includes an artisanal market, dance workshops, and traditional activities such as gouren and bagadig. The festivities will conclude with a fest-deiz and a concert featuring the artist Gwennyn.
