Brett Cameron signs contract extension with Hurricanes

The Hurricanes have confirmed that fly-half Brett Cameron has signed a one-year contract extension, securing his place with the club for the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific campaign.

The 30-year-old playmaker is currently working to recover from a serious knee injury sustained during the season opener against Moana Pasifika. This follows a period of difficulty for Cameron, who has faced two significant knee injuries in the last two years.

Cameron brings extensive experience to the squad, including two Super Rugby titles and two Super Rugby Aotearoa crowns from his time with the Crusaders. He also previously played for the Kamaishi Seawaves in Japan and earned a test cap for the All Blacks in 2018. Hurricanes head coach Clark Laidlaw praised Cameron’s resilience, describing him as a “true source of inspiration” for how he has managed his recovery.
