Brett Goldstein discusses mental health battle prior to Ted Lasso success

Actor and comedian Brett Goldstein has shared his experience battling depression prior to the success of the Apple TV+ series ‘Ted Lasso’. The 46-year-old British actor, known for playing Roy Kent, revealed in an interview with Men’s Health UK that a gratitude journal recommended by his therapist helped transform his mindset.

Goldstein explained that his therapist required him to list at least 10 positive moments every day. He noted that while it was difficult to find anything during periods of deep depression, the practice eventually trained his brain to seek out the positive. He stated that after 30 days, the habit allowed him to see the good in much larger quantities, describing it as a skill that requires work.

While he acknowledged that he still experiences ‘darker days’, Goldstein said the practice of valuing small moments continues to support his mental health.
