Breuil-Cervinia hosts inaugural youth sports festival

The Valtournenche municipality held the inaugural ‘Festa dello Sport’ at the Breuil-Cervinia sports field to celebrate the region's young athletes. The event honored local sports clubs, including Monte Cervino, Azzurri del Cervino, Club de Ski, and the Future Snow snowboard club, which collectively represent over 400 members. Additionally, the Valtournenche handball section, consisting of approximately 50 players, was recognized.

The ceremony highlighted the dedication of young athletes and technicians, including Italian ski mountaineering champion Louis Ratti. A significant focus of the evening was sports inclusion. Programs such as ‘Happinesski’ by Club de Ski allow athletes with disabilities to train alongside their peers, while Azzurri del Cervino supports deaf athletes. The event also noted the presence of British skier Fred Warburton, who trains in Breuil-Cervinia and competes in the visually impaired category.
