Brex identifies fastest-growing software vendors for fall 2026

Data from Brex reveals that customer spending this fall is increasingly directed toward companies providing infrastructure for AI agents to operate. While foundational AI models are central, a significant portion of costs is driven by the environments where agents perform tasks, such as running code, testing, or reading web pages.

Key trends include a surge in companies renting computing power to support coding agents, with such companies renting computers at 16 times the rate of comparable firms within six months. Additionally, the share of GPU buyers renting computing resources rose from 12% to 29% over two years.

The ranking, which measures growth in the number of companies spending on specific vendors, excludes publicly traded companies, those valued above $30 billion, or those with over $1 billion in annual recurring revenue. Top-performing vendors include Baseten, which runs models on GPUs, followed by Modal and Daytona, which provide sandboxes for isolated code execution.
