Police arrest arsonist in Mirditë and drug suspects in Brezovicë and Lushnjë

Authorities in Albania and Kosovo have conducted several successful law enforcement operations targeting arson and drug trafficking.

In Mirditë, Albania, a 62-year-old man, Anton Deda, was arrested in flagrante after allegedly setting fire to a sixth location. The series of fires destroyed approximately 15 hectares of forest and land. Police used drones to track the suspect, who has a prior history of intentional arson. He faces charges of destroying property and forest environments.

In Brezovicë, Kosovo, a 27-year-old suspect identified as N. B. has been ordered into one month of pre-trial detention by the Ferizaj Basic Court. The arrest followed a report of suspicious activity in an abandoned villa. Police seized 1,063 grams of marijuana, two digital scales, and other tools suspected of being used for the preparation and distribution of narcotics.

Additionally, in Lushnjë, Albania, a father and son were arrested during operation ‘Fokusi’. Police seized a Kalashnikov assault rifle, ammunition, and cocaine during the raid, which targeted illegal weapons possession and drug trafficking.
