BRI Group reports significant profit growth across banking and finance sectors

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) reported a net profit of Rp 34.77 trillion through August 2026, representing a 6.63% year-on-year increase. This growth was supported by a 3.44% rise in net interest income to Rp 77.26 trillion and a 6.70% decrease in interest expenses. Total assets grew by 10.53% to Rp 2,127.78 trillion, while credit distribution reached Rp 1,446.98 trillion, up 13.66% from the previous year.

Separately, PT BRI Multifinance Indonesia (BRI Finance) saw an 89% year-on-year profit surge through July 2026. The company attributed this to a strengthened financing portfolio and synergy within the BRI Group. BRI Finance aims for a future portfolio composition of 75% consumer and 25% commercial segments, focusing on productive financing such as investment and working capital to maintain sustainable growth.
