BRI launches BRImo Taiwan to serve Indonesian diaspora
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) has officially launched BRImo Taiwan in New Taipei City. The digital banking application is designed to provide Indonesian diaspora members, particularly Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), with a single platform for daily financial transactions and fund transfers to Indonesia.
This launch follows one year of BRI's presence through its Taipei Branch in the Zhongsan District, which has grown to hold total assets exceeding USD 408 million. Remittance transactions between Taiwan and Indonesia reached approximately USD 490 million by the end of July 2026, with BRI serving more than 3,400 accounts.
Operating under the supervision of Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) and the Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), the platform aims to offer secure, fast, and transparent cross-border financial services available 24 hours a day.
