Brian Branch returns to Detroit Lions practice after Achilles injury

Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch has returned to practice following a ten-month absence due to an Achilles tendon injury. Having spent the start of the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, Branch is now within a 21-day practice window that allows the team to activate him to the 53-man roster.

Branch expressed optimism regarding his recovery, noting that he feels mentally prepared and is working to shake off the rust. While he is unlikely to play in the upcoming Week 5 game against the Arizona Cardinals, the Lions' scheduled Week 6 bye week provides additional time for him to acclimate to the defensive scheme and regain full fitness.

Branch also commented on the status of teammate Kerby Joseph, who has been sidelined with a knee injury for over a year. While there is currently no specific timeline for Joseph’s return, Branch expressed confidence that the safety will eventually be healthy enough to play.
