Delicia Cole, the mother of Brian Cole Jr., has publicly contested federal allegations that her son planted two inoperable pipe bombs near the Republican and Democratic national committee headquarters on January 6, 2021. In a recent interview, she described her son as a routine-driven individual with little interest in politics.

The family maintains that Brian Cole Jr. has been framed and is not the hooded figure seen in surveillance footage. Delicia Cole specifically noted that the gait of the individual in the video does not match her son. Brian Cole Jr. was arrested by the FBI in December 2025 and has been in pretrial detention since that time.
