Brian Conley hosts new 'Last of the Summer Wine' documentary

A two‑hour documentary titled "The Last Drop of Summer Wine" is set for release on Yorkshire Day (1 August). Actor‑comedian Brian Conley presents the film, travelling through Holmfirth in West Yorkshire – the iconic location of the long‑running sitcom – to revisit key sites and meet families of original cast members.

The programme, created by Sir Roy Clarke, features previously unseen photographs, scripts and scrapbooks from Clarke’s personal archive, together with brand‑new written reflections by Clarke himself. Interviews with relatives of stars such as Bill Owen, Peter Sallis and Michael Bates explore the legacy of the world’s longest‑running live‑action sitcom, which aired from 1973 to 2010.
