Brian Doerksen: Memorial services announced for Abbotsford worship singer
Brian Doerksen, a prominent worship singer from Abbotsford, British Columbia, passed away at home on July 21 following a diagnosis of stage four cancer earlier this summer. Doerksen, who maintained a global fanbase of over 275,000 monthly listeners, is being honored with memorial services, including one scheduled for October 17.
To commemorate his musical legacy, a new album titled ‘Breathing’ is set for release on October 2. The album features 10 previously unheard songs composed by Doerksen during a period of physical pain and anxiety shortly after his 60th birthday. The collection is described as having minimal instrumentation and low stimulation.
