Hayden Panettiere death investigation focuses on fentanyl-laced oxycodone

Authorities are investigating the death of actress Hayden Panettiere, who was found unresponsive in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16. While official toxicology results are still pending, investigators are focusing on a theory that Panettiere consumed an oxycodone pill contaminated with fentanyl.

Reports indicate that Panettiere may have had a long-standing connection to a drug supplier in Los Angeles who provided prescription medications from the black market. Investigators are working to trace the origin of the lethal pill, with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) assisting local police in the cross-country probe.

Panettiere's boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother Zach Hickerson were present at the scene. Brian reportedly administered Narcan in an attempt to revive her. Separately, Brian and Zach were recently involved in a physical altercation at a local bar in Greenville, resulting in Zach's arrest for disorderly conduct.
