Brian Krassenstein faces scrutiny over alleged donation to designated terrorist group

Social media influencer Brian Krassenstein is facing scrutiny after allegedly posting and then deleting a message claiming to have donated to Autistici/Inventati (A/I). The U.S. Department of State recently designated A/I as a ‘Specially Designated Global Terrorist’ (SDGT) organization, citing its role in assisting far-left extremists in evading legal authorities.

Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs Dylan Johnson issued a warning regarding the legal consequences of such actions, noting that donating to a designated terrorist organization is a federal crime punishable by up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $1 million. Johnson publicly questioned Krassenstein’s actions via social media, sharing a screenshot of the deleted post that read, ‘Donated thanks.’

Krassenstein responded by stating he did not make a donation but suggested he would do so once the designation is removed. He subsequently urged his followers to withhold donations to avoid arrest by what he termed an ‘authoritarian regime,’ advising them to wait until the designation is lifted before contributing.
