Brian May and The Darkness recalled 2011 London performance

The Darkness guitarist Dan Hawkins recently reflected on a 2011 onstage moment in London involving Queen guitarist Brian May. During a performance of the classic song ‘Tie Your Mother Down’, May performed a ‘rock triangle’ by leaning back against Hawkins.

Hawkins recalled the tension of the moment, noting his concern that moving might cause May to fall. He joked that the incident was fortunate to have occurred before May received his knighthood from King Charles III in 2023, suggesting the repercussions would have been much more severe had May been a Sir at the time.
