Brian Moore urges Steve Borthwick to drop Henry Pollock
Former England rugby legend Brian Moore has advised national coach Steve Borthwick against selecting Northampton Saints player Henry Pollock for the upcoming match against the All Blacks. The recommendation follows recent controversial behavior by the 21-year-old flanker during a match between Northampton and the Leicester Tigers.
Moore, a former Lions player and World Cup runner-up, described Pollock as a “provocateur” in a column for The Telegraph. He suggested that Pollock’s confrontational style and recent antics could provide opponents with additional motivation. This concern follows a heated clash during Northampton's 28-7 defeat to Leicester, where Pollock was involved in several incidents as players headed to the tunnel.
With England scheduled to face Australia, Japan, and New Zealand in November, Moore questioned whether Borthwick would risk selecting a player whose conduct might inadvertently fuel the opposition during such a high-stakes fixture.
