Brian Schottenheimer vows improvement after Cowboys loss to Ravens

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer has committed to improving his decision-making following a 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. The defeat, which occurred during Week 3 of the NFL season, was marked by a controversial final sequence where the Cowboys failed to capitalize on a first-and-goal situation from the Baltimore 2-yard line with 23 seconds remaining.

Following the game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones criticized the coaching staff's management of the late-game execution, stating there is ‘no explanation’ for the collapse. Schottenheimer acknowledged his errors, noting that he and Jones held a productive conversation regarding the performance. Schottenheimer stated, ‘I am man enough to recognize my mistakes. I make many mistakes, certainly I am not perfect.’

The critical sequence involved a series of unsuccessful plays, including an incomplete pass by quarterback Dak Prescott, a false-start penalty, and a subsequent field goal that tied the game, only for Baltimore to secure a victory with a 56-yard field goal in the final seconds.
