Brianza healthcare authorities launch new disability assistance plan

Healthcare authorities in the Brianza region of Italy are implementing new measures to improve medical assistance for individuals with disabilities residing in Residential Disability Communities (CAD) and Socio-Educational Centers (CSE).

Proposed solutions by ASST Brianza and ASST Lecco include creating priority channels for blood tests and medical examinations through Community Houses. The plan also focuses on providing specialized training for caregivers and operators, while clarifying access to the Dama pathway, which is designed for patients requiring specific healthcare approaches.

A significant challenge remains the administration of medication in these social units, which lack permanent nursing staff. To address this, ATS Brianza aims to foster closer collaboration between social structures and nearby healthcare providers.
